Sammie (Joan)'s Story
Hi,I have lived in Fort Worth, Texas for most of my adult years and really like it here. I have not gone by Sammie since my first marriage.ÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ I have gone by Joan Cassidy Levitan for the past 38 years.ÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ My old high school friends still call me Sammie and that is O. K., but I always hated that name.ÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ Many people now call me Joani.A lot of time has passed since graduation 1951.ÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ I am now a widow as my beloved Bill passed away last March 19, 2009 from Non Hodgkins Lymphoma.ÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ I am very lonely, but adjusting.ÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ I have two sons from my first marriage, Richard 58 and Bert 46.ÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ My daughter died in 2007.ÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ I still correspond with many of my old high school pals, but would like to be in touch with more. Sammie (Joan) Cassidy LevitanMy best friend would tell you I'm very timid, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as outgoing.I still dress in youthful clothes. I do not like matronly clothing. My oldest and once best friend was Carolyn Kelley. We met in Cedar Bayou just after I moved to Texas when I was 10 years old. We enjoyed movies most of all. We also enjoyed our summers spent on Tri-Cities beach swimming, boating...Expand for more
, etc.ÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ I have not seen Carolyn since my senior year of high school. After our 50th class reunion I got together with Neva Jo Young Maloy via email and we worked together trying to get the things from the reunion we had paid for, but were having problems getting.ÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ I never knew Neva other than just to speak to her and maybe play badminton in P. E. class while we were in school, but I always thought she was such a nice person.ÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ Today she is a very treasured friend as we continued to write after the reunion.ÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ She has been an inspiration to me when I needed her the most.ÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ I would not trade her friendship for anything.ÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ I know there must be many others out there that I would enjoy getting to know again.
I recently was honored with a short visit from my very dear friend, Linda Pierce Moore. We talked just like it was yesterday when we last saw each other. I also had a short over night visit from my dear friend, Myra Edwards Barnes about 5 years ago. I always seemed to miss Margie Pollock Bridges when she had a lay over at DFW, but do hear from her from time to time. September 9, 2011........I now have an ALL ACCESS PASS and can correspond better with anyone wanting to get in touch with me!!!!!!!
